The Alluvion is located on the second floor of the Commongrounds building.
414 E Eighth St, Traverse City, MI 49686
Enter through the front door under the marquee on 8th St, at the west entrance between the marquee and West Shore Bank, or directly from the underground parking garage.
Take the elevator or stairs to the second floor.
We recommend parking in the Government Center parking lot, off of Boardman Ave. This lot is free after 4:00 PM Mon-Fri and free all day on Saturdays and Sundays. Hang a left in that lot and park there. (Their signs are confusing but you can park there trust us.) It is kitty-corner from our marquee and there is a crosswalk conveniently placed right there!
There are also 16 metered parking spaces below the building and many free street parking options and other parking garages nearby. See a more detailed map with parking options here

All shows are general admission, so we encourage arrival when doors open. Check the description of the show in the ticket links to learn the style of room for any given concert.
Every show is different. Shouting with joy for the music, and standing or dancing respectfully is always welcome!
There are three main styles of seating layouts:
Club Style - 60-80 seats available. Casual vibe with space for standing or dancing as well. Chairs are grouped around tables, where you can enjoy drinks and food. Used for Funky Fun Monday and Thursday Night Jazz, as well as other shows.
Seated Listening Room - 150 seats available. A fully seated auditorium style setup.
Standing/Dancing Room - 180 standing tickets available. Used for dancing-forward events. Limited seating available at the edges of the room - first come; first serve.
We can accommodate all accessibility needs of our audience.
If you have any accessibility needs for an event in The Alluvion, please contact us ahead of time.

No. Every show is different. Some are seated, some are standing, some are club style with cocktail tables, and some shows are a hybrid.
Sometimes people find a great spot to dance during a seated show, and that is cool. Others find a nice spot to sit during standing dance shows, and that’s cool too.
Each event link and ticket lists the style of show in advance.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you to the event!

The general guideline is: if you would like an extra seat for your child, we request that you purchase them a ticket. But if they’re young enough to spend the evening on your lap, feel free to bring them in without one! We highly recommend ear muffs or plugs for infants.
Other things to consider when bringing a child to an Alluvion show:
Louder/more energetic shows often encourage dancing in the aisles or open spaces — this can be a fun way for kids to enjoy the tunes and get out the wiggles.
For quieter shows, if kids get overstimulated or a little cranky, use the lobber as a place to get the energy out! If noise persists during the show, you could be asked to leave by staff.
-
No. When shows are sold out, all the seats have been taken, or the room at capacity. We do not have a waiting list.
If you are determined to see a show, you may come to the doors to see if any ticket holders choose to return their unused tickets.
However, there is no guarantee that you will be able to get a ticket for the event. For this reason, we recommend purchasing tickets early, joining our email list, or the Deep End fan club.

The word “alluvion” refers to a natural phenomenon by which rivers and seas create new land. It is the moving of a shoreline, the shifting of a river’s curves. As moving water picks up sediment from one place and drops that sediment in a new place, it creates a new piece of land that will grow larger and larger as more sediment is dropped. This action is called “alluvion.”
We are deeply connected to our location on the banks of The Boardman River. We honor and respect the ancestral lands of the Indigenous Anishinaabe peoples. This name brings the movement of the river into our story. It is also a name that encapsulates change and creativity — values that resonate with us. We chose the name The Alluvion because of these reasons — and also because (let’s be honest) it sounds pretty cool, creative, and intriguing.
There is no wrong way to pronounce it. Some say All-uv-i-UN or All-uv-i-IN and others say All-uv-i-ON. All pronunciations work and sometimes it’s fun to switch it up.
