A glimpse into the evening’s stories:

  • A devotion to local food access is at the core of the Groundwork Center’s mission to create resilient communities in Northern Michigan, and throughout the entire state.

  • The owner of Populace Coffee in Bay City, Andrew Heppner, reflects on the failures and successes that come along with running a community-centric small business, and sticking to a mission.

  • Charlevoix resident, saw filer, and trail adopter Dan Dueweke tells the story of how he uses quiet tools on Northern Michigan’s trails.

  • Fueled by passion, and a little healthy community pressure, artist Chad Kirchner took on the incredibly ambitious task of designing a wall perfectly made for music.

  • How a deep love of music led Matt McCalpin to a dream role helping to shape a music scene one groove at a time.

  • How Inhabitect has worked to honor the environment from a landscape perspective, and continues to treat stormwater as a resource, not a waste product.
