Experience Interlochen’s gifted faculty, students, and guests in your area as the Interlochen in Town Series comes to The Alluvion in Traverse City. This performance features violinist Tina Chang Qu, cellist Patrick Owen, and pianist TJ Lymenstull.

A graduate of The Juilliard School, violinist Tina Chang Qu currently serves as Instructor of Violin at Interlochen Arts Academy. As a soloist, Qu has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the National Orchestra of China, the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, and the American Youth Symphony, among others. She has also toured as a chamber musician in the United States and Europe; made frequent guest appearances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic; and served as a member of the violin section of the Los Angeles Opera.

Versatile cellist Patrick Owen, D.M.A. remains in-demand as a recitalist, chamber musician, and orchestral player. A passionate performer of chamber music, Owen served as the cellist of the Portland String Quartet from 2016 to 2018 and was a founding member of the Ellipsis Trio. He is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, Eastman School of Music, The Juilliard School, and Boston University.

A decorated teacher, performer, and scholar, TJ Lymenstull, D.M.A. maintains a busy schedule of master classes, performances, and adjudication engagements at conservatories around the world. As a performer, Lymenstull has concertized in the United States, Europe, and Asia and has appeared with the Kronos Quartet and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. A dedicated teacher, Lymenstull is currently Instructor of Piano at Interlochen Arts Academy, where he has built a vibrant international studio. Lymenstull has also researched, performed, recorded, and lectured on piano music from the People’s Republic of China.
